Top Five Fall Trends September 14, 2014
FALL IS... slow cooked meals, crisp air, crunchy leaves, scented candles and updated wardrobes. It's a time of renewal; welcoming a new school year, breaking in those new booties, trying that pinterest project and purging those washer worn summer clothes.
It's the perfect time to assess, clean out and update your wardrobe, along with the kiddos'. Investing in the right pieces now will help you build toward their holiday and winter wardrobes with ease. In a season of gathering, it's also nice to have a few "go to" pieces that can be dressed up or down for all your upcoming occasions.
Below are the top five trends we love for fall...
1. Novelty Dresses
An outfit all in one. We love ease of throwing on a dress and immediately looking put together. With the ethnic and novelty prints, they will also serve as a great conversational piece. A novelty dress is perfect for family dinners, birthday parties and Thanksgiving.
2. Leggings, leggings, leggings
Printed leggings are a great staple. You can pair with a solid top, cardigan and boots or a simple graphic tee and sneakers. Your kiddos will get so much use out of these comfortable alternatives to jeans, you may want to consider stocking up on them.
Although we are mad for plaid year round, plaid just belongs in fall. Whether it be a crisp button down, a soft flannel or cozy harem, we love how a plaid adds print to any outfit.
Leather and leather detailing are huge this fall in adult fashion, as well as mini fashion. Making leather the center piece of the outfit is so on trend and stylish. However, we also love the touch of leather details which adds sophistication to any silhouette. How fun for your little ones!!
Accessories are one of the reasons we are okay with saying goodbye to summer. Layering cozy scarves, fun turban headbands or beanies, 'tis the season for accessories. The more layered the better so don't be shy about adding bracelets upon bracelets or scarves among headbands.
Wishing you all a wonderful wardrobe and fall season!
